Halowick, on the topic of his name.
To: Halowick
From: Lilli Hi! I’m Lilli. I found your name and address in a very muddy address book on a very slushy street with a rather useless streetlamp. It was printed in the smallest of letters (done by hand) on the last page. (I had to peel the wet pages apart and use a magnifying glass with a lense so thick it might as well have been a microscope.) Your name is Halowick. Or so it read. Is that your surname? I find it very intriguing. So before you tear this letter into shreds, would you mind soothing my curiosity with a few answers to these questions? + Is Halowick your surname or your first name? + If it’s your first name, why? + Where are you from? + And who are you? (Hmm… personal. I apologize) Your new pen pal, (or perhaps your new trash bin filler), -Lilli |

From: Halowick Lilli, It’s against every fiber of my good judgement that I even acknowledge your existence. The only reason I bother responding is your question about my name. I confess, no one has ever asked me that before. In truth, Halowick is neither my surname nor my first name. My real name is Hadrien Belofais. Halowick was my older brother. He was killed by human raiders a few years before I left for Wullferg Keep. Following tradition (for those from Tierek at least) I took the name of the eldest son to keep it in the family. As previously mentioned, I’m from Teirek originally--a country right below Wullferg. I didn’t live there for very long though. There were… there were many reasons my family had to leave. In regard to your last question… I think that’s one I’d best not answer. You don’t need to know who I am. Halowick Belofais |
